Welfare & Counselling
If life throws up some unexpected challenges during your time at the college, it’s good to know there’s always someone on hand to talk to. The welfare team are professionally trained to provide the support you need.
We welcome all applications across all subject areas from students with disabilities or learning differences. A dedicated team of support staff are here to help you and will assess your individual requirements when you apply.
Everyone works at a different pace, with their own strengths and weaknesses. The Learning Centre Team can provide some extra coaching or guidance with essay writing or maths. No student at Solihull College is left to cope alone.
If you require extra financial support to attend college, the student finance team have the advice and information you need. A variety of funds are available to help you cover the cost of your education, for which you must meet an attendance target at college.
The first port of call for new students, the Enrichment Team can advise in helping you get hold of your NUS card for discounts on travel, shopping and entertainment. They’ll also get you on day trips and sports teams, organising the events and activities that will make your time here even more fulfilling.
No one deserves more of a say in the life of the college than its students. The Student Voice process gives you the chance to be involved, have your say and make a difference to all of us.
When you enrol on your course, you will be assigned a personal tutor who will provide you with help and advice while you’re here. That includes a learning plan to track your progress throughout the course.
